Preparing for auto-enrolment in pensions: a guide
From October 2012 onwards a sea-change is taking place regarding how pensions are going to be provided in the UK, with the emphasis falling on employers to automatically enrol staff into a pension scheme and make contributions into that scheme. This means complicated rules and structures being put into place as per the Pensions Act 2008 and various Regulations. The Pensions Regulator has already published numerous guidance booklets – enough to make anyone’s head swim.
This session is aimed at the HR community and understanding what employers have to do and in particular, the steps that you will need to take in preparation for the change in the law.
Anna Denton-Jones, Partner at Morgan Denton Jones LLP, a specialist employment law practice, understands that pensions can be off-putting and complicated because of all the jargon used – her aim will be to break the dry and difficult law down into bite-sized chunks that anyone could understand and to give you a ‘to-do list’ as regards implementing the changes.
